University Gardens carries a wide array of organic fertilizers. Why use organic fertilizer? Organic fertilizer nutrient content, solubility, and nutrient release rates are typically much lower than inorganic fertilizers. They also improve soil structure and help to prevent topsoil erosion.
Fertilizer is any organic or inorganic material of natural or synthetic origin that is added to soil to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to plants’ healthy growth.
Naturally occurring organic fertilizers are derived from animal or vegetable matter (not to worry vegetarians and vegans- the animal matter fertilizer is derived from animal waste such as manure or guano).
We also carry conventional fertilizers for the traditional gardener.
